The problem
Parents want news, and the team means well: so photos go out on WhatsApp, in groups where everyone sees everyone else's children, from the childcare workers' personal phones. In terms of privacy and image rights, it is untenable; for the team, it is one more chore in the evening.
And the important information of the day (meals, nap, nappy changes) ends up on little notes that get lost between the room and the changing bag.
How Kidola solves it

Activate parent access
In Mon établissement (your setting's page), open the Paramètres and activate parent access (at the very bottom): families can then log in to their portal.

Share tagged photos
From the home page, open the Photos tab, add your photo and select the children who appear in it: only their parents will see it, with a notification.

Blur the faces that must not appear
Before sharing, use Kidola's built-in blur tool to hide the face of a child without image rights consent (or of an adult). The group photo stays shareable, with no compromise on privacy.

Keep the diary of the day
On each child's daily record, log meals, sleep, nappy changes and activities (with a comment). The « Communication de la crèche » carries the little story of the day as a whole.

Use private communication when needed
The « communication privée » on the record stays invisible to parents: it is the place for the team's internal notes.

For collective information (closure, party, reminder), go through Menu, Messages: one child, a group or the whole setting, with a notification by email and in the app.

Notifications are off by default on the parents' side: when you start out, invite them to activate the little bell in their profile.
Pitfalls to avoid
- Sort out image rights upfront: you cannot cleanly remove a child from a group photo that has already been shared. Tag with care, and blur unauthorised faces before sharing, not after.
- « Parents are not receiving anything »: nine times out of ten, their notifications are off or the email went to spam. The content remains visible in their app.
- A parent's morning message only appears to the team once the child's arrival has been clocked: clock in first, read afterwards.
